Welcome to...
Why Catholic?
Why Catholic? Journey through the Catechism illuminates our understanding of the Catechism of the Catholic Church and explores how these important truths of our faith affect what we believe, how we see the world, how we see ourselves, and how we regard our purpose in life.
Have you ever asked yourself the question, “Why am I Catholic?” Have friends or family members challenged you, “Why are you Catholic?” Has a child or grandchild asked your, “Why should I be Catholic?” Most of us have probably faced this questioning at some time or other, either prompted by our own search for meaning and purpose, or by someone we know who is looking to us for solutions to his or her own yearning.
How we answer these questions can impact ourselves, our families and our communities. Our world is in desperate need of people who will bring the values of the Gospel to their everyday lives. This “Living out” starts with viewing the world through a “Catholic lens”, a lens shaped and polished by our very Catholic understanding of Scripture and tradition.
But how do we find answers for ourselves and others? The Catechism of the Catholic Church, revised and updated after 400 years, offers significant riches with the full teachings of our Catholic faith.
With a grounding in our own faith, we grow confident to enter the marketplace of ideas with a solid sense of who we are and what we believe.
