Trust Fund
Thoughts from our Pastor, Fr. Schumacher.
Dear Parishioner and Friend,
There is a story of Honi the traveler. One day on his travels, Honi met an old man who was busy planting a very small fruit tree. “When will that tree bear fruit?” Honi asked. The old man replied, “Probably years after I am dead.” Honi asked, “Why Plant it, if you won't enjoy its fruit?” The old man replied, “I didn't find the world empty of trees when I was born. So I plant it for others who will follow me, just as other did for me.”
I believe this story captures the vision and hope of The Saint Joseph Trust Fund. We didn't find the world empty of the Catholic Tradition when we were born. Therefore, we should strive to preserve our Tradition for others who will follow, just as others did for us. Your generous gift to this Trust Fund is a guarantee that your gift will keep on giving for others who will follow the Catholic Tradition through the various ministries of Saint Joseph Church and School. I know we love our Faith, our Community, and our Children, so let us know take this step to preserve and protect those whom we love. I once heard it said, “It is possible to give without loving, but it is impossible to love without giving.”
I thank you for your consideration of this Trust Fund. More importantly, I thank you on behalf of those who will follow us!
With every kind regard,
Father Patrick A. Schumacher
Pastor
What is the purpose of a Trust Fund?
A Trust Fund is the financial help for the future needs of our church and school with an annual income distribution from invested principal. Our parish is alive with ministries to fit a variety of needs among us. Many of our ministries are being carried out by actively involved lay people. The life of a church depends on the quality of the community “inside” and “outside” its doors. A church's mission and vision for the future must balance expectations and needs of parishioners bother spiritually and financially. This is the goal of the Church of St. Joseph as a continued Parish Family, which relates to all the roles of our church. These roles, accepted responsibly by each member, are true expressions of our hearts and mids as meaningful experiences for the lives of our neighbors. The pastor and staff continue to nurture and support the gifted involvement of the laity. Together we continue on the journey of faith and spirituality, building the Kingdom of God.
Who will manage the Trust?
A 15 member Board of Directors, led by the Pastor as a permanent member, will administer the Trust Fund. All gifts given to the Trust Fund will be permanently held in the trust. Only the income generated by the invested principal can be distributed for church and school ministries.
