Teacher - Teresa Allen

Education: CDA ( Child Development Associate Degree)
Position: Preschool teacher, Daycare provider
Teaching/Work Experience: I have been involved with children since high school, (aging myself...1986) working in a daycare, taking Occupational Child Care classes along with Child Development classes. Went on to become a nanny in Colorado taking care of two children ages 3 and 5 for 2 yrs. After getting married and having my own child I continued to work in a daycare until we moved back to ND. I starting working as an aide in Flasher school for 5yrs until we moved to Mandan were I started to work here at St. Joe's Early Years Learning Center as the Preschool teacher in January 2001. I received my CDA in October of 2002.
Family: My family consist of my husband Dennis, my 16 yr. old daughter Brittany, two cats, two hamsters, and one fish, frog and lizard.
Interests: The obvious - children's well-being, miniature doll house and collecting, multiple crafts that are too many to mention, church choir, and going out to play paint ball.

Why I like to teach in a Catholic school: I appreciate the morals and values that go along with the school. The way the students are taught to have Christian attitudes helps them go out into the world and be better people and treat others with kindness and love as Jesus taught us to do.
