We believe that in providing a warm, safe, caring environment with age appropriate limits, the children will learn to express themselves in a positive way when being with other children. When appropriate behaviors are modeled by the staff, the children will also try to use the problem solving techniques being demonstrated to them. When additional limits need to be set because of a conflict, it will be handled in a clear, consistent, fair and positive manner so the children will understand the reasons. Time out or the temporary removal of the children from the activity will be used when continuous out of bounds behavior occurs. If a child gets a time out that is some what serious, the staff will write out an incident report and put it in the billing box behind the last name.
As of February 1, 2000 the center implemented a three-strike policy. When a child receives three major discipline (swearing, hitting or kicking a daycare employee, severe tantrums, and refusing to listen to directions) strikes he/she will be asked to leave our center.
