Special Sign Days
The Early Years Learning Center is closed for ten major holidays: Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, and July 4th.
Holidays, days immediately preceding or following a holiday, and days when there is no school during the school year (for public or private schools) the center will be open if there are a minimum of fifteen children scheduled for eight hours each. All children must be signed up for these days and will be charged regardless of whether they come or not. If they are signed up and do not come your child is considered a no show and will be charged $21.00 (3-12 year olds) or $25.00 (infant/ toddlers) for each day they are a no show regardless of hours they were signed up for. You must call 12 hours in advance to cancel your spot or you are considered a no show. Even if your child is sick you will still be charged for a no show if you don't call 12 hours before the time your child was scheduled to arrive at daycare on special days. The reason for this is so we are staffed appropriately on holidays and special days. If a child comes on a day that they were not signed up and we have room for your child, you will be charged a higher rate of $3.75 (3-12 year olds) or $4.25 (infant/toddlers) an hour for the time the child was unscheduled. If your child is here for more than 7 hours and is on the hourly billing plan, we will charge you the daily rate for these special days (see rates section for more info). The sign up is usually pulled a day or two before the actual sign up day so we can arrange staff. After the sign up is pulled you have to pay the unscheduled rate if you would like to bring your child to daycare.
The preschool follows the same calendar as St. Joseph Grade School.
