Goals


Social/Emotional

To develop and foster a positive self image about themselves.

To develop a sense of community: a sense of belonging and of being a part of the group.

To develop a sense of self worth as an individual and as a contributing member of the group.

To develop a sense of competency; a sense of being capable of trying, a sense of self-confidence and security.

To develop a sense of responsibility to self and others in relationship to actions and behaviors.

To motivate and enhance their curiosity about learning.

To create an atmosphere where by the children know they are accepted and loved for who they are.

To create an atmosphere where by the children have the freedom of self-expression while respecting the feeling and property of others.

Physical

To help develop the coordination of muscles and the awareness of self through sensorimotor activities.

Cognitive

To develop and enhance the intellectual side of the child through concrete manipulation of materials.  Recognizing that each child is unique; our basic philosophy when guiding our students through the avenue of learning is that they learn best by doing.
