Saint Joseph Librarian

Contact: Josephine Greff

I was born and raised on a farm⁄ranch at Ralph, SD, the fifth of six children. I attended a one-room country school for eight years and graduated from St. Mary's High School in New England, ND. My parents made many sacrifices to send us to a Catholic school. The University of Mary is where I received my BS degree, with majors in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education. When I accepted the library position at St. Joseph School, I took classes and obtained my Library Media Specialist Credential.

My husband, Kevin, works for Benedictine Health System (Duluth, MN) and supports their long term care facilities in ND, SD, and western MN. We have six children and thirteen grandchildren (ages 9 and under). Cass, Marti, Benita, and Lorine all graduated from Dickinson Trinity and are married. AJ and Katrin (married also) graduated from St. Mary's Central High School. Our family is a real joy to us and every grandchild is another blessing! I’m so proud that all seven of my school-age grandchildren attend Catholic schools. We have always made Catholic Schools a priority in educating our children and I have only taught in Catholic schools: Christ the King -Mandan, Holy Rosary - Detroit Lakes, St. Patrick⁄Queen of Peace - Dickinson, and this is my ninth year at St. Joseph School.

I have always found the students, staffs, and families in these Catholic Schools to be very special - they make such a sacrifice and commitment to furthering the spiritual (as well as the academic, physical, and emotional) growth of these beautiful children. I have much gratitude for the opportunity to work here and I love the students!

In my spare time, I like to play music, read, spend time with family, travel with Kevin, and have company in our home.
